Intersecting Beauty and Struggle at the Confluence of the Deshkan Ziibing

I was into Museum London last week, and was meeting with Head of Programs, Andrew Kear, in the Centre at the Forks, about the various GardenShip projects underway. There is lots of excitement and possibility to talk about with regard to our project’s development.

As I looked through the windows of the space where we held our first workshop last November – over Ron Benner’s Garden, to the confluence of the Deshkan Ziibing (Thames River) – and then back towards the interior windows of the gallery with its presentation of Black Lives Matter posters and placards from the recent protests in London, my experience was thick with reminders of intersecting struggles, challenges and opportunities – beauty, and pain.
